In light of the first confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) case in Ada county, the City of Boise is taking extra steps to promote the health and safety of our community. All city facilities (except Boise Airport) are closed to the public.


The school and community center were built on the grounds of McKinley Elementary School. Grace Jordan serves students from the former McKinley, Jackson and Franklin Elementary Schools.

Monday - Friday, 3:15 - 6:00 p.m.

Closed Summer, Weekends, Spring Break and holidays.

Kid City and Programming

Kid City, a free after-school drop-in program is open from 3:15-6:00 p.m. for children in grades 4-6, includes fitness and art programs, homework assistance, and a healthy snack.

Teens will enjoy an informal gathering space with cozy lounge chairs, computer stations with interactive video games, and a flat-screen TV with Nintendo Wii. Staff members will provide mentoring and life skills development for teens. The free teen center hours are Fridays from 3:00-6:00 p.m.

Upcoming Events

For the health and safety of our residents and staff, the City of Boise has canceled all city-sponsored public programming and public outreach until further notice. This includes:
  • Parks and Recreation activities, classes, events and leagues
  • All Library and Arts & History programs and events

The City of Boise issued a Public Health Emergency Order on March 19, 2020 suspending most Boise City board and commission meetings.
