The City of Boise has hired an architecture/design firm for the new Whitney Pool project, which is Cushing Terrell. The new regional pool will include a variety of features, including a dedicated “kiddie” area for children to enjoy.
Thank you to everyone who provided input on the theme and design features to be included in the “kiddie” area at Whitney Pool. The results are in, and Under the Sea Exploration was the favorite of the three design options, winning 38.67% of the vote. Safari Land received 35.86% of the vote and the Pirate Adventure theme received 25.47% of the vote.

Next steps include finalizing the new pool’s design elements with the architecture. Construction is expected to start on the new Whitney Pool in late 2025 with completion anticipated in 2026. Additional timeline information will be shared as it is available.
