Ann Morrison Park Event Infrastructure Improvements

Starting Monday, May 2, 2022 the City of Boise will be overseeing an improvement project along the main road in Ann Morrison Park from the Royal Boulevard entrance to the Candy Cane playground area. The project will provide permanent network infrastructure to support park events and operations throughout the park footprint. Improvements include installation of fiber optic conduit and cabling from the Parks and Recreation Administration building to the new interactive fountain, and networking to provide Wi-Fi connectivity for future events and staff needs.

Expected impacts to park visitors include the closure of parking along the north side (Boise River side) of Royal Boulevard. Large equipment will be working in the area and flaggers will be in place to direct traffic through the park during construction. Restrooms near the Old Timer’s Shelter and Candy Cane Playground may be impacted during the work and portable restrooms will be provided if this occurs.

This infrastructure project is expected to be completed by the end of June.

Project completion estimates are subject to change due to volatility in the construction industry. Current challenges include material availability, rising costs, supply chain disruptions, staffing shortages and more. Boise Parks and Recreation will update project timelines as needed if delays occur.
