August 2019 Project Update – Military Reserve
Soil remediation has been completed at the new site and a vacant building that was located on the property at the police shooting range has been removed. Construction crews will soon begin work on range amenities and the department’s goal is to get the new archery range open to the public as soon as possible – most likely by end of August. Our team will notify the public when an opening date is set.
Contractors are building the pathways and structure pads at the new dog park and the Boise Parks and Recreation Department hopes to align the opening of the park with the opening of the new bike park, which should be completed sometime in August. In the meantime, Fort Boise Park will remain a dog off-leash area for neighbors and visitors to the Military Reserve area.
Work is beginning on the jump features in the park. Crews plan to seed the site and give plants and landscaping time to establish before the park opens – again, no opening date has been determined.
Thank you for your patience as these projects move forward. As opening dates are set for the different amenities, the City of Boise and Parks and Recreation Department will spread the word. If you have any additional questions, please send them to BPR@cityofboise.org.
