Notice: Possible Permit Processing Delays

We recently implemented a new Permitting and Licensing system, which is affecting our usual response times and permit processing times. As we work through refinements to this new system, we thank you for your ongoing support and patience. For the most timely service, we ask that you submit documents and inquiries to the Permit Technician team at permits@cityofboise.org.

Please note that our new system requires you to create a new account prior to seeking assistance from our Permit Technicians. Create your account today by visiting permits.cityofboise.org.  In addition to creating your account, you can also view some helpful how-to-videos that could answer many of your questions and get you on your way at cityofboise.org/permitting-licensing.

Additionally, if you need to schedule an inspection, you can do so online with ease. Simply log into your permitting and licensing account and access the “My Records” page. Select the permit number you wish to schedule, then choose “Inspections” from the “Record Info” menu to get started.

Schedule an appointment with a permit technician, plans examiner or planner

In our continued efforts to provide quality customer service while protecting community health during the ongoing challenges posed by COVID-19, we’ve created an appointment system that allows you to schedule virtual and in-person appointments to speak with a Plans Examiner, Planner or Permit Technician.

Virtual appointments can be scheduled anytime within a 14-day window of the current date and within 36 hours advanced notice to allow staff to properly prepare for the meeting.

In-person appointments can be scheduled anytime within a 3-day window of the current date.

Please note: City Hall practices social distancing protocols, which limits the number of people on PDS' floor. Masks must also be worn at City Hall.

How to Schedule an Appointment

  1. After clicking on the “Schedule Appointment” button, you’ll be taken to a Microsoft Bookings page that includes a list of different meeting types.
  2. Click the “i” button on any meeting option, for information about the meeting type.
  3. After clicking on the meeting you want, select a date on the calendar.
  4. After selecting a date, you can select a specific planner from the drop-down menu on the right or let the scheduler put you with whomever is available. Please note that if you pick a specific person from the drop-down menu, only certain times may be available for appointments based on their availability.
  5. Pick a time for your appointment from the available options. Please try to select a time that you know you’ll be available to meet.
  6. After picking your date and time, enter your name, phone number and email address. Staff will use this information to get a hold of you in the event the meeting needs to be moved, cancelled or if the connection is lost during the meeting.
  7. Scroll below this area and enter the required information for the meeting. Include a brief description of your project and any building/planning permits related to the project. Some meeting options may ask additional questions.
  8. After filling out the meeting information, click the “Book” button.
  9. Once the appointment is confirmed, you’ll get an email confirmation message.

Modifying Your Appointment

  1. You can modify your appointment by clicking on the “Manage booking” button in the confirmation email you received.
  2. After clicking on the “Manage booking” button, you’ll be taken to meeting confirmation page you saw after you booked your appointment. Here you can click on either the “Reschedule” button or the “Cancel appointment” button.
  3. Reschedule: You can select another date, time and staff member for your appointment. Bookings will remember the information you entered for your appointment, so there is no need to add additional information. After you’ve selected a new appointment time, click the “Update booking” button. A new confirmation email will be sent to the email address you entered.
  4. Cancel Appointment: Click “Cancel booking” to cancel the appointment. A cancellation message will be sent to you and the staff member you booked the appointment.
