Certificate of Appropriateness - Minor

A Certificate of Appropriateness (COA) application applies to most exterior changes of a site and buildings within any Historic District (HD-O) as determined by the Decision Matrix including but not limited to:

  • Demolishing any part of a primary or accessory building
  • Major landscaping alterations or tree removal
  • Change of roofing material
  • Siding replacement
  • Window replacement
  • Solar Panel Installation
  • Additions

A COA is not required for interior alterations or temporary structures. The use of a Major or Minor Certificate of Appropriateness and, therefore, the review body is determined by the Decision Matrix. A COA - Minor is reviewed administratively by the Planning Team.
