Manage Growth on the Edges of the City
The revised zoning code proposes using zoning tools to limit sprawl and manage the open areas that we all care so deeply about.
- Create a new zone: Open Land - Manage (O-3) with the purpose to support managed land conservation efforts on the fringes of the city.
- Introduce a new Overlay Zone: Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) to ensure development mitigates fire risk and protects flora and fauna.
- Update the Boise River System Overlay to ensure that development along the river preserves, protects and enhances the Boise River and surrounding area.
- Revise Annexation Policies to better reflect priorities to address land management and resource constraints.
