Zoning Code Rewrite Open House: Module 3

Welcome

This digital open house presents the Zoning Code Rewrite's proposed Module 3, which focuses on processes and procedures.

What is a Zoning Code?

A city’s zoning code guides the physical design of a city. It is an essential tool to respond to the needs of our community, while preserving what makes Boise special. Specifically, it addresses:

  • Where certain buildings, such as residential, office, commercial or industrial uses are allowed to be built
  • How a development should look
  • The processes and procedures to develop land

Module 3 + Consolidated Draft

The proposed development process will reinforce the city's vision and goals by:

  • Create application types
  • Create new application type: Allowed Use - Allowed Form or Alternative Form
  • Establish an Interdepartmental Review Process
  • Reintroduce the Hearing Examiner
  • Reclassify Design Review Committee as Design Review Commission
  • Update the required development findings
