Firearm Owner - Not Prohibited

If you are the current gun owner and are requesting to get your firearm returned, fill out, sign and notarize the Firearm Affidavit and submit it to: BPDPropertyDispo@cityofboise.org.

Firearm Transfer for Prohibited Individual

If you need to transfer your gun property to another individual because you are prohibited from possessing a firearm, fill out, sign and notarize the following forms and submit them to BPDPropertyDispo@cityofboise.org

  • You will both fill out the Bill of Sale/ Transfer form
  • Each of you will fill out the appropriate Acknowledgment form
  • The new gun owner will fill out the Firearm Affidavit to be able to pick up the gun property

Firearm Transfer for Non-Prohibited Individual

If you are unable to pick up your gun property yourself and need to transfer the gun property to another individual so they can pick up the gun property for you, fill out, sign and notarize the following forms and submit them to: BPDPropertyDispo@cityofboise.org

  • You will both fill out the Bill of Sale/ Transfer form
  • The transferee will fill out the Firearm Affidavit to be able to pick up the gun property

Death Investigation

If you are inquiring about getting gun property released from a death investigation case and you are the authorized agent to handle the deceased individual’s property, the following is required for consideration.

  • You will need to provide BPD with some type of document that shows you are the authorized agent or administrator to conduct business on the deceased’s behalf regarding their property. Examples could be a court probate record, Letters of Testamentary or another type of similar document to show proof of administrator authority. Submit paperwork and a Firearm Affidavit to BPDPropertyDispo@cityofboise.org
  • If you do not have any authorized agent or administrator paperwork to provide BPD and none will be forth coming, then you will need to fill out, sign, and notarize the attached Small Estate Affidavit. A Firearm Affidavit will also need to be filled out, signed, and notarized to claim the gun property. Submit all paperwork to BPDPropertyDispo@cityofboise.org
  • If the firearm is a potential biohazard due to materials present on the firearm, a Biohazard Waiver will need to be filled out, signed and notarized. Submit the paperwork to BPDPropertyDispo@cityofboise.org
