Boxes

These go in your recycle cart

Dry food boxes like cereal, pasta, and shoe boxes, as well as corrugated cardboard boxes can be recycled in your blue cart. Please break them down.

However, boxes which contain frozen and refrigerated food items must be put into the trash cart. They are often coated in or woven with plastic which does not allow them to be recycled.

Reduce and Reuse

Buy only what you need to limit excess that will become waste.

Email customer service of your favorite online retailers to request they use as few boxes as possible when shipping your purchases.

If you have cardboard boxes that are in usable condition, consider gifting them to someone who might want them for moving through your local Buy Nothing group.
