Help Boise Reduce Food Waste Together
Reducing food waste is one of the most impactful actions households can take to shrink their environmental footprint. Composting food scraps saves valuable landfill space, cuts greenhouse gas emissions and creates healthy soil for Boise.
To make composting accessible for more Boiseans, the City of Boise offers the Food Scrap Drop Off Program for residents who don’t have curbside compost service.
Who can participate?
If you live in an apartment, condo or another multi-family community without curbside compost pickup, this program is for you! Simply collect your food scraps at home, then bring them to one of our convenient drop-off locations.
Participation is free, but registration is required. Registered participants will:
- Receive the code to unlock drop-off bins
- Get tips for successful food scrap collection and food waste prevention at home
