Earth Day 50th Anniversary

The City of Boise is throwing a party to celebrate!

We are putting our own spin on Earth Day and focusing on our community’s passion, innovation, and the practices that reduce waste and reuse resources in creative ways. The city is partnering with JUMP to bring you an event featuring live local music, food, drinks, art and activities, and that will showcase local organizations that are knocking it out of the park with their strategies to reduce and reuse.

One of the best ways to have an impact on our environment is for individuals and organizations to reduce what they are using, whether that is energy, water, plastic, paper, metals or textiles. Reducing is not always easy, but there are people and businesses in Boise creating unique and exciting strategies to do more with less, and that’s worth celebrating!

This event will also launch the City of Boise’s new Curb It program, Reduce and Reuse. The changes in recycling over the past few years have made it clearer than ever that recycling is not enough to address the amount of waste that we create in Boise. Our Reduce and Reuse program will focus on real changes our city can make to cut down waste and bring together our community to focus on local innovation, policy and behaviors changes and to highlight what is possible.
