Pretreatment Program

The City of Boise - and its citizens - love the Boise River. It enhances our quality of life not just as a resource and a means of recreation but as a part of our culture.

River

Since 1985, the city has taken extra steps to protect the river by regulating industrial and commercial used water that is discharged to our water renewal system. Through our EPA-approved Pretreatment Program, we help local businesses understand and meet state and federal pollution control requirements.

Commercial or Industrial

If you are an industrial or commercial business that discharges or plans to discharge used water to Boise’s water renewal system, contact the Pretreatment Program to determine which requirements may apply to your used water discharge and if you need to apply for a permit.
