Rate Increase Information

The City of Boise is committed to sustainably managing our community’s resources. We continually seek opportunities to provide added value for our customers while protecting our environment and keeping our rates competitive.

Below are the proposed utility bill rate increases for fiscal year 2025, which begins October 1, 2024. These increases will be reviewed by city council in August 2024 to go into effect on October 1, 2024. Rate percentages are an average for all customers, for individual rate changes please see fee changes in the FY2025 Proposed Budget.

The average proposed rate increase for water renewal (sewer) bills is 13.2% for all customers.
The average proposed rate increase for residential solid waste bills is 7% for all customers.
The average proposed rate increase for commercial solid waste bills is 9% for all customers.
The average proposed rate increase for commercial recycling bills is 8% for all customers.
