World Trade Center Memorial: Highlighting New Features

September 11, 2026, marks the 25th anniversary of 9/11. In preparation, the City of Boise has been investing in improvements and accessibility upgrades to the World Trade Center Memorial by J. Amber Klinsky located at the Idaho Fallen Firefighters Memorial Park (1791 W. Shoreline Dr.). The public artwork and memorial site include a 10-foot steel beam recovered from Ground Zero after the September 11 attacks.

Please join us in highlighting and celebrating these new features on Wednesday, September 2 at 11 a.m. Following remarks by Mayor Lauren McLean, Boise City Council and Staff, guests will be invited to take the new accessible pathway leading to the memorial to lay commemorative roses in honor of those lost in 2001.

Please plan ahead as parking at the Idaho Fallen Firefighters Memorial Park is limited. Additional parking is available at the nearby Boise Farmers Market located at 1500 Shoreline Dr. Carpooling, walking, or biking to the park via the Boise River Greenbelt is recommended. ADA parking is available on site with a paved pathway providing access to the memorial.

American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation will be provided.
