Meeting Information

Participate

Historic Preservation Commission meetings are held in the Maryanne Jordan City Council Chambers on the 3rd floor of City Hall. Meetings start at 6:00 p.m. and are open to the public. The meeting's end time depends on the length of the agenda. All public meetings are held in a hybrid format, allowing both virtual and in-person attendance to ensure compliance with the Idaho Open Meetings Law:

How to Participate

If you want to testify at the meeting, you can sign up in advance. A sign-up form will be available below once the hearing's agenda has been set. The form will remain active until noon on the day of the hearing. At that point, advanced sign-ups will close, and the form will not be displayed. However, any member of the public will still be allowed to speak after everyone on the sign-up list has spoken.

For each hearing item, in-person testimony will be heard before online testimony.

About the Historic Preservation Commission

Boise's charm can be traced back to the Oregon Trail, and that character is important to preserve. The Historic Preservation Commission presides over any decisions that impact any of the Historic Character Overlay Districts through the Certificate of Appropriateness applications. While they are independent of the Planning and Zoning Commission and similar to the Design Review Commission, they do not make decisions regarding the use of properties.
