The Historic Preservation Commission seeks to promote, preserve and protect the historic buildings, structures, sites, monuments, streets and neighborhoods which serve as visible reminders of Boise's historical, archaeological, architectural, educational and cultural heritage.

Meetings are held in a hybrid format allowing both virtual and in-person attendance.

About the Commissioners

The Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) has between five and nine voting members. Members of the HPC are appointed by the mayor and confirmed by city council with due regard to the proper representation of such fields as history, architecture, urban planning, archeology, and law. All appointments are for a term of three years.
