Boise Fire Investigating After Incident at Grove Plaza

Today at 8:23 a.m. we responded to the Grove Plaza after a call came in for a possible explosion. Once we arrived, we were advised by an employee working under the Grove Plaza that he had seen a flash when turning on a light in a vault room located under the plaza. There were hazardous materials stored in that room. The plaza was closed off to foot traffic as we investigated. There were no injuries and the plaza reopened shortly after the incident. Boise Fire crews stayed on scene to monitor the air in the area, but nothing was found. A fire investigator is on scene to determine the cause of the flash. There is no public safety issue.
