The Boise Fire Department and the Girl Scouts of Silver Sage are partnering to hold Girl Scouts Fire Ops 101. This event is aimed at giving Girl Scouts the opportunity to learn more about the Boise Fire Department and the fire service. The event will be held on May 4, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Boise Fire Training Center (12142 Joplin Rd, Boise). The group, ages 13 – 17, will get fitted in turnouts, participate in hands on extrication, water flow and more. Boise firefighters will be assisting the girls in all of the events and scenarios. This event is a great way to introduce girls to firefighting as a career and also gives them the opportunity to try new things, as well as build self-confidence and teamwork skills.
