Comics, Cosplay and Creativity Comes to Boise This Weekend for the Boise Comic Arts Festival!

BOISE – The Boise Comic Arts Festival (BCAF) is back! Taking place at Boise Centre August 30 and 31, this year's festival promises to be exciting for all ages, with a weekend full of comic art, creativity, and community fun.

"BCAF is a celebration of all things comic arts, bringing together a diverse lineup of renowned comic book artists, illustrators, writers, and publishers," says Boise Public Library Events Coordinator Josh Shapel. "Attendees can participate in hands-on workshops, cosplay contests and parades, artist panels, and Artist’s Alley, which is a showcase of more than 100 guest creators, vendors, and exhibitors."

Meet Your Favorite Artists and Creators

This year's festival will feature special guest appearances by some of the most influential figures in the comic arts industry. Fans will have the opportunity to meet their favorite artists, get autographs, and participate in interactive discussions about the creative process behind some of the most beloved comic book characters and stories. Guests this year include Fantastic Four and Star Trek: Lower Decks writer Ryan North, whose Star Trek: Lower Decks: Warp Your Own Way graphic novel received the Hugo Award. Also in attendance is David F. Walker whose comic Bitter Root with Sanford Greene has been picked up for a film adaptation. For fans of children’s books, they’ll be able to meet Matthew Forsythe, creator of picture books such as Pokko and the Drum and the just released Aggie and the Ghost. Not only that, but award-winning creator, Andy Runton, brings his kind-hearted, adventure-seeking character "Owly" to Boise. Locals will recognize Alieha Dryden, whose comic Marion and the Goathead will be released in this year’s BCAF Presents, a free publication guests will be able to take home.

In addition, there will be a Kids’ Corner, a Teen Zone, and Gaming.
