August 26, 2025

BOISE – Ready, set, start writing on the walls of the Downtown Library! Community members are invited to join Mayor Lauren McLean, Library Director Jessica Dorr, and Boise Public Library Staff for a “Farewell to the First Floor” of the Downtown Library party. It’s a unique opportunity to take note of some special memories of the Library, while sharing in the excitement of the renovations to come.

“We hope to see families, teens, and other Boiseans come celebrate the Boise Public Library in a fun, interactive way,” said Library Director Jessica Dorr. “We also want to thank the community for their patience as the Library undergoes renovations to make the space flexible, safe, and welcoming for everyone.”

  • Iron-on Decals – Bring your own shirt or tote and customize it
  • Time Capsule Creation – Contribute to a one-year time capsule
  • Stuff-a-Bag Book Checkout – Bring your own container and fill it with books to check out
