Update: BPD Investigates Vehicle vs Bike Collision

Sadly, the 8-year-old boy involved in this collision did not survive and passed away from his injuries last night.  The investigation is ongoing. There have not been any citations or charges at this time.

“Our hearts are broken for the family, friends, neighbors, and everyone grieving this unimaginable loss. A tragedy like this one, involving a young child, touches our entire community. We are holding all those affected in our thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time,” said Boise Police Chief Chris Dennison.

Nez Perce Street reopened around 11:30 pm last night.

Previously released: July 2, 2025

Today, July 2, 2025, around 7:28 pm, Boise Police responded to a vehicle vs bike collision at the intersection of Nez Perce Street and Pacific Street. A child on a bike was traveling southbound across Nez Perce, and a truck was traveling westbound on Nez Perce.  Ada County Paramedics rushed the young victim on the bike to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Boise Police Violent Crimes Unit, Crash Reconstruction Team, and Victim Witness Unit responded to the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

Nez Perce Street, between Latah Street and Pacific Street, is closed until the investigation is complete
