January 5, 2022

In a historic swearing in ceremony Tuesday night, Boise Mayor Lauren McLean welcomed the three newly elected and re-elected members to City Council (pics attached). Members also voted on leadership at the meeting. Elaine Clegg was again elected Council President, while Holli Woodings was elected the new Pro Tem.

“When I took my first oath of office to serve on the Boise City Council, it was an incredible moment for me and the beginning of a decade of rewarding service to this city,” said Mayor McLean. “I’m looking forward to continuing to work with this council, new and old members alike, to create a city that protects people, welcomes all, and offers opportunity for everyone.”

The council meeting featured the first swearing-in ceremonies for seats elected by geographic districts. Council member Lisa Sánchez was re-elected to council and will represent District 3. Council Pro Tem Holli Woodings was also re-elected and will represent District 5. Luci Willits was elected to represent the people of District 1. She is taking the seat of TJ Thomson, who stepped down after 3 terms of incredible service to spend more time with his family.
