Boise Receives $6.7 Million To Preserve Affordable Housing
January 14, 2025
The City of Boise was one of 17 applicants selected nationwide to receive funding to maintain, protect and stabilize affordable housing. The city’s award of $6.7 million from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will be used to increase housing stability and preserve affordability for residents of Sage Mobile Home Park.
“Keeping Boiseans in their homes is one of our top priorities when it comes to the city’s housing initiatives,” says Mayor McLean. “The investments made with this grant will help repair and upgrade infrastructure, easing the burden of costly repairs on residents.”
Sage Mobile Home Park, a 2-acre mobile home park situated on the Boise Bench, was purchased by the city in 2022 to preserve affordable housing for 26 families. The preservation of existing housing units is part of the city’s larger strategic efforts to address the housing needs of our community.
With this new award, Boise has now received $16.6 million in competitive grant funding to help support and provide a variety of housing choices to low-to-moderate income residents.
