BOISE – Boise Mayor Lauren McLean and the Boise City Council are opening applications for two community members to join the city’s new E-Mobility Task Force. The volunteer task force will collaborate with city officials to develop educational outreach strategies and inform potential policy updates for e-mobility.
“Boise residents care deeply about how we share our streets, pathways, and public spaces,” said Mayor Lauren McLean. “This task force is an opportunity for community members to be part of the conversation and help inform thoughtful, practical solutions that work for everyone.”
E-Mobility transportation, such as e-bikes and e-scooters, provide an additional choice for residents to move around and recreate in our city. As they’ve grown in prevalence, the City of Boise aims to balance supporting the value they provide while ensuring our shared spaces can be enjoyed safely by everyone.
“These two individuals and their unique points of view will play a vital role in ensuring Boise continues to be an incredible place to walk, ride, and connect to our community enjoyably and safely,” said Boise City Councilmember Jimmy Hallyburton.
The task force is made up of community representatives from healthcare, public safety and education, and more, as well as parents and youth. The city is seeking two “at-large” representatives to join this group. Applicants must be Boise residents over the age of 13 and older with availability for a once monthly, 2-hour meeting from August through December of this year. Those interested can apply on the City of Boise website through August 2, 2026.
