Dog Off-Leash Season Extended Until May 31 at Two City Parks

April 28, 2020

Because spring leagues have been postponed or cancelled through May 31 due to ongoing coronavirus (COVD-19) concerns, Boise Parks and Recreation is once again extending the seasonal dog off-leash program at Ann Morrison Park (1000 S Americana Blvd.) and Optimist Youth Sports Complex (9889 W Hill Rd. Pkwy.). The program will now run through the end of May.

All areas of the two parks remain available for off-leash dog use from sunrise to sunset, with the exception of Boise River Greenbelt paths, parking lots, roads and playgrounds. Owners are reminded to please pick up after their pets.

In addition, visitors are asked to follow recommended hand hygiene and practice physical distancing of at least six feet between themselves and those outside their immediate household when using city parks and open spaces.

Fenced dog parks throughout the City of Boise, including Together Treasure Valley Dog Island, remain closed at this time. To learn more about off-leash areas in the City of Boise that are open during the COVID-19 outbreak, visit our off-leash parks and areas web page.
