Boise Parks and Recreation and Saint Alphonsus are teaming up to offer a mobile COVID-19 vaccination clinic from 10 am to 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 20 at Zoo Boise. The mobile vaccination unit will be located next to Zoo Boise’s front entrance. Vaccines will be available for ages 12 and older.
In addition to people who participate in the mobile vaccination clinic on site, any visitor to the zoo on Saturday, November 20 who has a vaccination record displaying a first or second dose COVID-19 shot, or third booster shot received that same day will receive free admission to Zoo Boise. Please note, free admission only applies to the individual listed on the vaccination record and photo ID will be required for free entry into the zoo. Again, you must show proof of a COVID-19 vaccine first or second dose or booster shot received on Saturday, November 20 to qualify for free admission into the zoo.
“We’re excited to partner with Saint Alphonsus to offer free admission to Zoo Boise for anyone who chooses to get vaccinated this upcoming Saturday,” said Boise Parks and Recreation Director Doug Holloway. “Our last mobile vaccine clinic at the zoo was very successful and we are grateful for this unique partnership to promote the health and safety of our community.”
Doses of the Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available on site and administered by Saint Alphonsus staff at their mobile vaccination unit on Saturday.
"Saint Alphonsus is pleased to partner with Zoo Boise and the Parks and Recreation Department to offer COVID-19 vaccines to help the community, boost vaccine rates and bring this pandemic to an end. We are dedicated to making getting the vaccine convenient by bringing our mobile clinic where families gather. Look for the clinic signs and enjoy a day at the zoo, while protecting yourself, your family and your community,” said Christopher Stock, Saint Alphonsus Health System Vice President, Community Health & Well-Being.
Free admission with proof of vaccination applies all day November 20 and is only available to anyone who chooses to get vaccinated that same day. Zoo Boise is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with last admission at 4 p.m.
Zoo Boise has turned the act of visiting the zoo into a conservation action. Since 2007, visits to Zoo Boise have generated more than $3 million towards the conservation of animals in the wild, redefining why we have a zoo. Zoo Boise is accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums, a national organization that supports excellence in animal care, conservation, education, and science.
