Officers investigating a shooting on Fry Street, public asked to avoid the area

August 2, 2019

Just after 4 o’clock this afternoon Boise police were dispatched to a report of a shooting on the 1700 block of Fry Street. Officers on scene confirmed two victims had been shot and the victims were taken by ambulance to a local hospital. We do not have an update on their condition at this time.

Officers immediately set up a perimeter and began searching the area. During an initial investigation they were able to identify a potential suspect and they are working to locate him at this time. He is described as a Hispanic male in his 20s and it's believed that he is armed. Police have information that he may be in a home in the area of Fry Street but to be safe, officers ask that residents in the area of Fairview and Allumbaugh to Northview stay in their homes and call 911 to report any suspicious activity.

“We have a large number of officers on scene throughout the area working to ensure the safety of the residents who live nearby. We understand that situations like this are concerning and we can assure you we have well trained officers on scene working toward the safest possible outcome,” said Boise Police Lieutenant Patrick Avella. “Our thoughts are also with the two victims and their families.”

We will provide more updates as they become available.
