In May 2019 the Boise Police Narcotics Unit--BANDIT (Boise Area Narcotics & Drug Interdiction Team) in conjunction with the DEA Boise District Office initiated an investigation into a multi-state heroin trafficking organization.  Yesterday, August 29th, 2019, BANDIT and DEA with the assistance of Ada County Sheriff’s Office intercepted two drug couriers delivering a half-kilo of heroin (20 ounces) in downtown Boise.  Lindsay Marks and Sharma Anderson were subsequently arrested and charged with Trafficking Heroin (felony), possession of methamphetamine (felony), and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.  To date over 3 lbs. of heroin has been seized and multiple arrests have been made.  The seized heroin, which was destined for sales in Boise and the surrounding communities, has a wholesale value of approximately $50,000 and an estimated street value in excess of $200,000.  The investigation is ongoing and additional arrest and seizures are anticipated.

“With these arrests and seizures, we have prevented a dangerous amount of illegal narcotics from reaching the streets of Boise,” said Boise Police Lieutenant Tim Kukla.  “We would like to recognize the invaluable partnership we have with the DEA which allowed us to see this investigation cross state lines and put a stop to a large scale trafficking operation in our region.”
