In response to neighborhood tips and concerns, members of the Boise Police Department Neighborhood Contact Unit in May began investigating a home on the 1100 block of Wilson Street for the possibility of narcotics activity.  Following a two-month investigation, officers forwarded their reports on to the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office and a search warrant was issued for the residence.  Boise Police NCO officers served the warrant on Thursday afternoon.

Arrested:  Shannon E. Smith, 45, Boise

Charged:  Drug Trafficking in Heroin (F), Drug Trafficking in Methamphetamine (F), Correctional Facilities- Major Contraband Introduced (F)

Inside the residence officers located just over 40 grams of a white crystalline substance which tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine.  Officers also located approximately six grams of suspected heroin inside the residence.  Officers placed the homeowner, 45-year-old Shannon Smith, under arrest and transported her to the Ada County Jail under the above charges.  While being processed, jail staff located over two grams of suspected heroin in Smith’s possession, which resulted in another felony charge.
