WATCH LOG: Two arrested for multiple North End vehicle burglaries; Man in custody after using stolen credit cards to purchase over $4,000 worth of items

At just before 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning, Boise Police Patrol officers responded to a report of a vehicle burglary near the intersection of 19th Street and Ada Street.  Witness reports indicated two adult males had entered and gone through a vehicle before heading northbound on foot.  The men appeared to be burglarizing other vehicles on the street.  Officers quickly responded to the area and located two men near 19th Street and Eastman Street who matched suspect descriptions, later identified as 20-year-old Francisco Castro and 21-year-old Enrique Torres-Ortega.  The two men were taken into custody and found to be in possession of items later identified to be stolen from several different unlocked vehicles in the area.  The suspects were each booked into the Ada County Jail for four counts of burglary.

Officers would also like to remind everyone that most vehicle burglaries are crimes of opportunity.  Citizens can decrease the chances of their car being targeted by making sure their vehicle is locked, hiding possessions from plain sight inside the car, or by removing all valuables from the vehicle.

Arrested: Marvin L. Muse, 40, Richland, WA

Charged:  Burglary- Four Counts (F), Fraudulent Use of a Financial Transaction Card- Three Counts (F)

At just before 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, officers from the Boise Police Department Organized Retail Crime Unit received a report of a suspicious transaction from loss prevention personnel at a store on the 3500 block of Federal Way.  Reports indicated that a man had attempted to purchase jewelry using multiple financial transaction cards, which were all declined.  After doing an area search officers located the man and his vehicle at a nearby gas station.  The man was in possession of several credit cards belonging to a local woman.  Investigators later confirmed that the cards had been stolen along with the victim’s purse.  A search of the suspect’s vehicle revealed over a dozen items which were purchased using the stolen cards, totaling over $4,000.00 in value.  Officers took the suspect, identified as 40-year-old Marvin Muse, into custody without incident and booked him into the Ada County Jail charged with seven felonies.
