Investigation ongoing into fatal crash involving pickup truck, scooter

UPDATE:  The investigation remains ongoing into the crash at the intersection of 15th and Main Street on Sunday night.  A crash scene reconstruction team responded to the scene and preliminary evidence indicates that a pickup truck driving northbound on 15th Street struck an electric scooter being ridden by two passengers on the south side of Main Street in the intersection.  Initial information indicates that the scooter was driving eastbound when the collision occurred.  Both scooter passengers were transported to an area hospital.  Sadly, one of the riders, a 16-year-old male, was declared deceased from injuries sustained in the crash.  The second passenger, a 16-year-old male, sustained non-life threatening injuries.  The driver of the pickup truck remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

The investigation remains ongoing by the BPD Violent Crimes Unit.  The Ada County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased pending notification of family members.


Previously Released Sunday, 9:14 p.m.--

Boise Police officers are currently on scene of an injury crash which left one victim deceased and another injured.  The crash occurred at the intersection of 15th Street and Main Street at 8:10 p.m. this evening.  The second victim has been transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  The intersection is currently closed and a crash reconstruction team is on scene.  The investigation remains ongoing at this time.
