Officers find no one injured after being dispatched to shot fired call; Investigation is ongoing and park is safe and open

October 16, 2019

Around 12:08 p.m. Boise Police officers were dispatched to a report of a shot fired in the south west corner of Ann Morrison Park.  Officers immediately set up a perimeter around the scene and began an investigation.  Officers did not find that anyone had been injured and they received information about a possible suspect.  Officers made contact with a male matching the suspect’s description and evidence was found at the scene.   After further investigation, officers believe the incident possibly began as a physical altercation between two males.  Reports indicate that each male may have produced a weapon during the altercation, but did not use the weapons to harm one another.  Officers have made contact with both parties.  The investigation remains ongoing, and the report of a shot fired remains unconfirmed.  When the investigation is complete, BPD will route the report of the incident to the appropriate prosecuting attorney agency for review of potential criminal charges.

Officers would like to thank the public for their cooperation and coordination during this incident. There is no ongoing threat, the park is open and the scene is clear.
