At around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, Boise Police officers assigned to Boise State University responded to a theft call at a coffee shop located on campus.  Witness reports indicate that an adult male had stolen eight gift cards totaling $3,960 in value.  As the investigation was ongoing, BPD officers in the Organized Retail Crime Unit were made aware of suspicious transactions made at a retail store chain in both Nampa and Boise.  Upon investigation, officers found evidence that a suspect matching the description of the original theft had purchased merchandise with the stolen gift cards.  Evidence indicates that the suspects involved had then returned the purchased items at a third store in Boise for profit.  An area search was conducted and officers located the suspect vehicle parked in the area of Emerald and Milwaukee.  Officers made contact with four people associated with the car and detained them.  Upon further investigation, evidence indicates that the four suspects had traveled to Boise with the intent to commit fraudulent crimes.  All four were booked into the Ada County Jail with felony charges.
