Charged: Burglary (F)

On September 6th Boise Police officers took a report of a grand theft that had occurred at a retail store on the 1200 block of S. Broadway Avenue on September 3rd.  Investigators located evidence that indicated a man and a woman had stolen nine bottles of wine worth over $4,400 from the store and then left the area in an RV.  Upon further investigation, detectives realized that the couple were also being investigated by the Meridian Police Department for reported shoplifting at two other retail stores in that jurisdiction.  In total the man and woman were suspected of stealing 18 bottles of wine worth over $10,000 in value.  On Monday evening an off-duty City of Boise employee recognized the RV as possibly being connected to the thefts and was able to record a license plate, which they passed on to investigators.  Detectives made contact with the occupants of the RV, identified as Hamilton and Moeri, on Tuesday morning and following further investigation the two were taken into custody.  They were transported to the Ada County Jail where they were booked on felony burglary charges.

Further burglary charges for the crimes committed in Meridian are pending.
