BPD arrests suspect after reported robbery

Arrested: Neil Kortz, 66, Boise

Charge: Attempted Robbery (F)

This evening Boise Police detectives investigating a robbery on Fairview Ave. located and arrested a suspect. During the investigation, officers learned the suspect attempted to rob the business but did not receive any money before fleeing.  Thanks to tips from the public, detectives were able to identify the suspect as Neil Kortz. Further evidence was also found linking him to the crime.    Kortz was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail.

Just before 11:00 am Boise Police officers were dispatched to a robbery at a business on the 6400 block of W Fairview Ave.  The suspect claimed to have a weapon and left with an undisclosed amount of cash. Responding officers quickly set up a perimeter to search for the suspect but were unable to immediately locate him. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

Suspect Description: The suspect is described as a white man, 55-60 years old, about 6’3” tall. He was wearing a red ball cap with yellow writing, a dark blue jacket, gray sweat pants, brown sneakers and a light blue medical mask.
