Boise bank robber identified, arrested in Oregon

Following a bank robbery which occurred on Vista Avenue on Monday, members of the Boise Police Department Violent Crimes Unit and U.S. Marshals Greater Idaho Fugitive Task Force received several tips from the public identifying the same man as the suspect.  Detectives investigated all of the tips and evidence was located identifying the robbery suspect as 57-year-old Jeffrey Marrese of Ontario, Oregon.  Detectives forwarded their investigation on to the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office and an arrest warrant was issued for Marrese on Wednesday morning.  With assistance from Oregon Law Enforcement, officers were able to locate the suspect and take him into custody at a motel in Ontario on Wednesday.  He was booked into the Malheur County Jail where he will await extradition.


Previously Released Monday: 

Just after 2:30 this afternoon Boise police responded to a reported bank robbery on the 1100 block of S. Vista Ave. The suspect demanded money from an employee and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. Responding officers quickly set up a perimeter to search for the suspect but were unable to immediately locate him. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

Suspect Description: The suspect is described as a white man in his 50s about 5’8” to 6’ tall. He did not have teeth and was wearing two hats, a beanie and a baseball hat.
