Boise Police continue to search for missing woman

July 29, 2020

Boise Police continue to search for a missing woman. Her full name is Beatrice Nyabenda and she has been missing since Sunday.  Due to the extreme heat, Nyabenda’s previous medical concerns, and the fact that she has been missing for several days, officers and her family are worried for her safety.  Nyabenda speaks limited English, she is fluent in Kirundi.  She was last seen wearing a green and white dress and she was carrying an umbrella and a bag.

Nyabenda left home Sunday near E. Boise Ave and S. Apple Street and since then there have been very few sightings of her. Some of the sightings have come from the area of  E. Warm Springs Ave. and Starview Dr.  Police are asking residents in this area to check backyards, outbuildings, and any unattended property around their homes.  Detectives ask anyone who sees her to call dispatch and remain in sight of the woman until officers arrive.

Family and friends in her community have been active in sharing information to help search for her.  Officers have also searched the nearby foothills with an unmanned aerial vehicle and increased patrols in search of her.
