Detectives from the Boise Police Violent Crimes Unit and Boise Police Department Crime Lab completed a thorough investigation into the death of 22-year-old Robert Eugene Skinner. The report was sent to the Ada County Prosecutor for a review of charges. After review, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Kyle Kelly. Kelly turned himself into the Ada County Jail yesterday.

Boise Police continue to investigate the shooting death of a 22-year-old man early last Friday. Initial information indicated that the victim suffered an unintentional self-inflicted gunshot wound. After further investigation, officers discovered information that the gunshot was not self-inflicted. The shooting still appears to be unintentional but criminal charges are possible. The investigation is being routed to the Ada County Prosecutors Office for review.

Boise Police Violent Crimes Unit detectives continue to actively investigate an early morning shooting on Friday that left one man deceased. Detectives are investigating along with the Ada County Coroner’s Office.
What Happened: Officers responded to a residence on the 900 block of W. Belmont Street at 2:44 a.m. after receiving reports of an adult male with a life-threatening gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts by officers and paramedics, the man was declared deceased. After notifying the family, the Coroner’s Office identified the man as 22-year-old Robert Eugene Skinner. Investigators have spoken with several people who were at the residence and based on preliminary indications, detectives have not been able to identify a criminal element in the shooting.
The investigation remains ongoing.
