Around 8:00 p.m. on 10/8/2020 Boise Police Neighborhood Contact Officers were in the area of W. Ustick Rd. and N. Maple Grove Rd. following up on complaints from neighbors about suspected drug activity.  An officer attempted to stop a suspect vehicle for a traffic violation and the vehicle fled the area.  The officer located the vehicle again a short time later and attempted to contact the driver who was standing outside the vehicle.  The officer announced himself by saying “Stop, Boise Police” and attempted to take the suspect into custody for further investigation. After a brief struggle, the suspect took off on foot.   Additional officers located him nearby on the 3500 block of  N. Jackie Ln. and took him into custody.  After an investigation, officers found evidence that the suspect, identified as Anthony Howard, had attempted to discard two stolen firearms while fleeing from police.  A K9 search around the suspect’s vehicle also resulted in a positive alert to the possible presence of narcotics. Inside the vehicle officers located suspected heroin, heroin paraphernalia, and oxytocin. Howard was booked in the Ada County Jail on the listed charges.

As part of additional follow up in the area, six other suspects were contacted near a home on 4600 block of N. Jennifer St.  where multiple drug related items were in plain view.  After further investigation the following suspects were arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on drug related charges.
