BPD searching for sexual battery suspect

September 29, 2020

Boise Police have been investigating a report of sexual battery of a minor and are asking for the public’s help with identifying a suspect.  Since the initial report, detectives have been following up on leads, including a possible vehicle, but have not been able to identify a suspect at this time.

What happened:  On August 20, 2020 around 8pm a teenager, riding her bike on the greenbelt, reported being approached by a man who used his bike to cause her to crash.  The male proceeded to grope her and threaten her until another bike rider could be heard approaching and the suspect fled.  The victim was traveling in the area of Willow Lane at the time.

Detectives from the Boise Police Department Special Victims Unit have been investigating this report. SVU detectives work with services providers at FACES and with Boise Police Victim Witness Coordinators to provide victims with any support services they need during an investigation.  Boise Police bike officers have also been patrolling the greenbelt searching for a suspect matching this description and have not been able to locate anyone.

Suspect description: The suspect is described as being in his 20’s, tall and thin, pale white, with short blond hair.  At the time he was clean shaven and was said to have a very prominent “Roman” (hook) nose.  The suspect was also riding a black mountain bike with large tires.  It’s possible the suspect was also later seen riding in the passenger seat of a grey 2006-2007 Nissan Murano.  A composite sketch of the suspect is attached.

Contact Crime Stoppers: Anyone with information is asked to call dispatch at 208-377-6790 or Crime Stoppers: at 208-343-COPS (2677), www.343COPS.com, or leave a tip using the “P3 Tips” app for your mobile device.
