Officers respond to stabbing in progress, locate victim and suspect

April 10, 2021

At 7:07 am Boise Police officers responded to the 1600 block of Federal Way for a stabbing in progress call.  Neighbors reported seeing the victim and hearing screaming.  Officers immediately located a badly injured adult female just outside a residence. They quickly took her to a safe location and to an ambulance where she was taken to the hospital with what appeared to be life-threatening injuries. Officers evacuated the nearby apartments to ensure the safety of the occupants and gathered evidence indicating the suspect had gone into a nearby residence. The suspect refused to exit and BPD’s Special Operations Unit responded to the scene.  Upon entry into the residence, the adult male suspect was found deceased with what appeared to be self-inflicted wounds.

The female victim remains in the hospital, in stable condition, recovering from multiple stab wounds. Detectives from BPD’s Violent Crime Unit are continuing to investigate.
