BPD makes arrest after shots fired call

Charges: Aggravated Assault (F), Discharge of a firearm in city limits (m)
Around 9:25 pm on 8/14/2021 Boise Police responded to a shots fired call on the 1500 block of Sunrise Manor Way. Reports indicated a man had fired a high-powered rifle multiple times out front of his residence before going back inside. Officers arrived, secured the scene, and began gathering information. Officers identified the suspect as Robert Chad Heiner and evacuated nearby residents. Officers made contact with the suspect and found additional evidence that the suspect had fired multiple rounds from a rifle and pointed the weapon at one person. Preliminary evidence indicates the suspect fired his gun because he was angry about his neighbor's loud music. Officers seized the rifle and the suspect was booked into the Ada County Jail on the listed charges. No one was injured in the incident.
BPD looking for Witnesses to Downtown Stabbing
Around 2 am on 8/15/2021 Boise Police were made aware of a reported stabbing near 5th and Main. Officers quickly located the victim on a sidewalk, provided crowd control, and began an investigation. Officers identified two victims. One victim had been stabbed and was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The second victim had been struck with an unknown object and was taken in a private vehicle to the hospital. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
A preliminary investigation suggests there was an altercation between a group of subjects prior to police arrival.
