Shortly after midnight Ada County Dispatch received a report of a male driver yelling and cursing at the calling party and brandishing a pistol before leaving the area. Officers responded the 900 block of Miller St. and observed a man matching the suspect’s description yelling at other subjects before hearing a gunshot. The suspect, Ethan Byrd, was later seen holding a pistol in his hand. Evidence indicates the victim saw Byrd draw his gun during the verbal altercation and confronted him. Byrd then shot the victim in the leg. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Upon initial contact, Byrd appeared to be intoxicated, ignored commands, and fled from officers. Minutes later Bryd was taken into custody transported to the Ada County Jail on the listed charges.
