September 2, 2021

Suspect: Lance Garver, 51

Charges: Second-degree murder (F), Aggravated battery (F), Providing false information to police (m)

A Boise man has been arrested in Columbia County, Oregon on a warrant out of Ada County.  Boise Police violent crimes detectives began investigating an aggravated battery report involving the suspect, Lance Garver, in December 2020.  Garver was arrested on 8/26/2021 and is in the Columbia County Jail awaiting extradition to Idaho.

What Happened:  Boise Police patrol officers responded to a battery in progress call at a residence on December 10, 2020.  Two injured adults were located in the home and taken to the hospital for treatment.   BPD Violent Crimes detectives began an investigation and preliminary evidence suggested there was a physical fight involving three adult men in the house.  The third man in the house was identified as Lance Garver. The three men were known to each other.  One of the injured subjects was treated and released.  The second injured subject passed away in the hospital in January of 2021.  Several months later, after a complete and thorough investigation and after a final decision on cause of death by the medical examiner, the deceased man’s death was determined to be a murder.   The investigation was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office for review and a warrant was issued for the arrest of Lance Garver.  The suspect was located by Columbia County Sheriff’s Deputies on August 26th, 2021, and booked into jail.

Boise Police would like to thank the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in this arrest.
