Suspect charged with murder after downtown shooting

Arrested: Timmothy Morgan, 20, Meridian

Charges: Murder in the Second Degree (F), Enhancement-Use of a Deadly Weapon in Commission of a Felony (F)

Shortly after 1:30 am officers in the downtown core heard multiple shots fired in the area of 6th St. and Grove. St. As officers approached the intersection they observed an adult male victim on the ground being dragged out of the street by another adult male. Several subjects in the area were given verbal commands to get on the ground as officers secured the scene. The victim had multiple gunshot wounds and officers worked to perform lifesaving care until paramedics arrived. The victim was later pronounced dead at the scene. Officers interviewed multiple witnesses and evidence indicates the suspect fled the area before officers arrived. A large perimeter was set and officers searched the area. Upon further investigation, officers were able to identify the suspect as Timmothy Morgan and he was taken into custody.  Morgan was booked into the Ada County Jail on the listed charges.
