Update: Shooting victim passes away, Suspect charged with murder

The adult male victim who was shot and injured on January 15th passed away this morning at a local hospital.  The Ada County Coroner has identified the victim as 22-year-old James Cuellar.

BPD has charged the suspect, Jed Earls, with Murder in the Second Degree.

At 4:10 am on Saturday, Boise police responded to a call for service on the 2100 block of S. Owyhee Street. Upon arrival, officers located one victim who had been shot inside a house. Evidence indicated a second man on scene was the suspect. While officers provided first aid to the victim, who had life-threatening injuries, additional officers took the suspect into custody without incident. Ada County Paramedics took the victim to the hospital where he is listed in critical condition. Following further investigation, evidence indicates the suspect shot the victim following an argument. A firearm was recovered from the residence. The suspect has been booked into the Ada County Jail on the listed charges.
