Update: Suspect arrested after July stabbing investigation

Arrested: Richard Lemaster, 37, Winnabaw, NC

Charged: Aggravated Battery (F), Enhancement -Use of a deadly weapon in commission of a felony (F)

Following a lengthy investigation by the Boise Police Violent Crimes Unit, Richard Lemaster was identified as a suspect in a stabbing that occurred on July 28, 2022, between 9th Street and Capitol Blvd along the Boise River.  A nationwide extraditable arrest warrant was issued for Lemaster on September 30, 2022.  On October 25, 2022 Boise Police were informed that Lemaster had been arrested on the warrant and had been extradited back to Idaho.  Lemaster was extradited from North Carolina.

1/At 8pm last night BPD responded to a report of a stabbing near 9th St & the Boise River.  Officers located a victim w/ non-life threatening injuries, secured the scene and began looking for a suspect.  A preliminary investigation shows there was a fight between two adult males.

2/The victim has been treated and released from the hospital.  Officers were unable to find a suspect at the scene, witnesses described the suspect as a white male, 5’8”, 30’s – early 40’s, with long greyish hair and a reddish beard.

3/The suspect also possibly has hand tattoos, a broken cane, and walks with a limp.  Anyone with information is asked to please call non-emergency dispatch at 208-377-6790. You can also make a tip to @CSofSWIdaho Crime Stoppers at 208- 343-COPS (2677).
