Boise Police Investigating Thursday Night Shooting

Arrested: Tristen Blackburn, 18, Boise

Charge: Officer – Flee or Attempt to Elude a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle (F)

Last night at 11:43 pm, Boise Police responded to reports of shots fired on the 7200 block of W Colonial St. When officers arrived on scene there were multiple vehicles still in the immediate area. Officers began canvasing the surrounding area and talking to witnesses still on scene. Evidence indicates one adult male victim was shot by a male suspect. The victim was privately transported to a nearby hospital before officers arrived and was treated for a gunshot wound. During the course of the investigation nearby officers saw a vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed. The officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver fled. Shortly after officers initiated and successfully completed a PIT maneuver on the 7000 block of Franklin Rd. The driver, Tristen Blackburn was transported to the hospital for evaluation before he was arrested and booked into Ada County Jail on the listed charge. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.

Investigators are asking for any businesses in the area of Franklin and Cole with security video to contact police. Detectives will be looking at passing vehicles to identify multiple involved people who fled before officers arrived.
