Suspect: Harry Andrews, 48, Boise
Charge: Aggravated Assault (F)
Harry Andrews was released from a local hospital last night and booked into the Ada County Jail on the listed charge after being injured Tuesday on I-I84.
The Ada County Critical Incident Task Force is continuing to investigate the officer-involved shooting. The involved Boise Police officer is Sergeant K. Rush, who has eighteen (18) years of police experience, all with BPD.

The suspect injured in the officer-involved shooting today on I-184 is a male adult. His injuries are not life-threatening and he remains in the hospital at this time. Charges are pending and he is expected to be booked into the Ada County Jail upon his release.
The Ada County Critical Incident Task Force is continuing to investigate. Any video evidence will be reviewed as part of the investigation. The officer involved in this incident is on paid administrative leave per department policy.
All lanes of I-184 were reopened at 12:52 pm.

Previously Released: January 3, 2023
At 9:40 am citizens called Ada County Dispatch reporting a person walking in the traffic lanes on the freeway going westbound. A Boise Police officer responded and made contact with the subject on I-184 near the flyover. Preliminary information indicates the subject refused officer commands, produced a weapon, and the officer was forced to discharge his service weapon. The subject was injured and taken to a local hospital. The officer was not physically injured.
Idaho State Police is coordinating traffic, all westbound traffic on I-184 is being diverted west to Meridian. Traffic is closed for drivers using the flyover to head east. The Ada County Critical Incident Task Force led by the Ada County Sheriff’s Office has been activated to investigate. The information in this news release is considered preliminary pending the CITF investigation.
